Who is Your Fiduciary?

You are most likely a fiduciary to your clients. You put their interests first. The industry has pushed you toward this principle that, by and large, we all agree is for the greater good.

But when you need to make a big financial decision, who is your fiduciary? Does the recruiter from the Firm trying to lure you away have your best interest at heart? No, they are the recruiting equivalent of a wholesaler. "Third party recruiters" are like brokers. Are they steering you towards what is best for you, or what is best for them?

A Simple Solution

Advisor Advocates signs an engagement agreement with the Advisor, and the Advisor pays a flat rate retainer for search and vetting services. This makes you the client, not the product. My only goal is to be the one who helps you find the right solution. If I am compensated by the winning Firm, the retainer is reimbursed to the Advisor.
